Figure 1 President NAGAYASU, the award winners, and the judges who attended the ceremony

The award ceremony for the 6th Photo Contest was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. This year, the contest attracted 74 entries from both within and outside the university. Following a rigorous evaluation process by the panel of judges, five outstanding works were selected for recognition.

In addition to certificates of commendation, the award winners received photo panels featuring their winning works and QUO cards as supplementary prizes.

At the beginning of the ceremony, President Takeshi NAGAYASU delivered opening remarks, saying, “Each year, the qualities of submitted photographs seem to become more and more excellent. The Grand Prize-winning work beautifully captures the activities of Nagasaki University, and its title is also excellent.”

On behalf of the judges, Keita MORI of the newspaper company, NAGASAKISHIMBUNSYA, offered comments, saying, “All of the works reflect the unique perspectives of those who live their lives based at Nagasaki University. I look forward to seeing more wonderful works next year.” His remarks were strongly echoed by the other judges.

The Nagasaki University Photo Contest is held annually from October to November, featuring photographs of Nagasaki University and its students as its theme. Now in its sixth year, the contest continues to attract more participants and has seen noticeable improvement in technical skill.
