Professor Yoshiki Matsushita of the Institute of Integrated Science and Technology has received the JAMSTEC Nakanishi Award
Professor Yoshiki Matsushita of the Institute of Integrated Science and Technology received the JAMSTEC Nakanishi Award and delivered the JAMSTEC Nakanishi Award Special Lecture at the Japan Society of Ocean Engineering on January 16, 2026.
The JAMSTEC Nakanishi Award was established through the generosity of the late Dr. Toshiyuki Nakanishi’s family to embody his strong conviction that “Advancement in marine engineering technology is indispensable for the development of Japan’s marine resources, and nurturing researchers and engineers is paramount for enhancing technical capabilities.” It is awarded through the Japan Society of Marine Engineering to individuals who have made outstanding contributions.
Professor Matsushita’s research on “Development of Low Environmental Impact Technologies in Fisheries” was recognized as an engineering contribution towards realizing sustainable fisheries. Following a recommendation from the Japan Society of Fisheries Engineering, he received the award.
