Nagasaki University Center for Japanese Language and Student Exchange hosted the “International Student Exchange Summer Festival” at Campus Mall on Friday, September 26, 2025, with support from ONE DEJIMA Co., Ltd.

About 200 participants, including new international students who arrived in Japan in September, their tutors, Trustee for Student Affairs and International Affairs Ito Masako, and faculty and staff involved with international students, gathered to build connections.

This event was part of the Nagasaki Peace Culture Festival 2025 Support Project. It featured performances such as a demonstration by the Nagasaki Nanzan High School Kendo Club, a Face-Changing Show, Japanese drumming, Chindon-ya performances, a Yosakoi dance performed by the student club “Toppu,” performances by international students, and a Bon dance involving everyone. These activities helped strengthen ties with the local community.

Amidst the mix of languages, it provided an opportunity for international students to experience the atmosphere of a Japanese summer festival. For both international students and other participants, it proved to be a meaningful and enjoyable exchange event.
