On April 9th 2025, Dr. Mu-Chang Shieh visited Nagasaki University. He is a visiting professor of Nagasaki University, adjunct professor of the Fu Jen Catholic University’s Graduate Institute of Cross-Cultural Studies, and advisory committee member of the National Taiwan University’s Center for Japanese Studies.

As a visiting professor at Nagasaki university, Dr. Mu-Chang Shieh acts as a coordinator between Nagasaki University and medical institutions in Taiwan in the field of nuclear disaster medicine. He also gives lectures at universities in Taiwan.

President Nagayasu, Trustee Ito (in charge of Student and International Affairs), Professor Noboru Takamura of the Atomic Bomb Disease Institute, and Associate Professor Hitomi Matsunaga of the Atomic Bomb Disease Institute attended the meeting, and discussion took place on topics regarding energy situation in Taiwan and Japan. After the courtesy visit, Dr. Mu-Chang Shieh gave a seminar titled “Damage to reputations: The radioactive contamination incident on Orchid Island”.
