Delegation from Nagasaki University visited the Chinese Culture University (CCU), where President Nagayasu delivered a lecture
On May 14, 2024, President Nagayasu of Nagasaki University, Dean Morikawa of the School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences, and Vice Dean Yanagihara of the School of Medicine visited Chinese Culture University in Taipei.
Nagasaki University signed an academic exchange agreement and memorandum of understanding regarding student exchange with Chinese Culture University in 2019. Since then, research exchanges and student exchanges, mainly in the field of humanities and social sciences, have been conducted.
The delegation from Nagasaki University started their visit by meeting with President Wang and former President Xu of the Chinese Culture University to discuss future exchanges.
After that, President Nagayasu delivered a lecture titled “Planetary Health and Nagasaki University” at the “Huagang Academy,” a series of academic forums held by the Chinese Culture University since 2019, to which key figures from various academic circles worldwide are invited. The lecture was attended by approximately 400 faculty, staff, and students. News of this event reached a large audience as it was featured on the website of Taiwan’s national broadcast station “CNA.”
Furthermore, President Nagayasu, Dean Morikawa, and others visited Chinese Culture University’s Department of Japanese Language and Literature at the College of Foreign Languages and Literature. They engaged in discussions for promoting future exchanges, involving faculty members of the department, students who have studied at Nagasaki University, and those planning to study there.
