On May 13, 2024, President Nagayasu of Nagasaki University, Dean Morikawa of the School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences, Dean Ikematsu of the School of Medicine, and others visited National Taiwan University in Taipei.
 In 2010, Nagasaki University signed an academic exchange agreement and a memorandum of understanding regarding student exchange with National Taiwan University. Since then, our institutions have engaged in research exchanges and student exchanges mainly in the humanities and social sciences. In recent years, joint research has also been conducted in the field of medicine, and starting this year, student exchanges involving clinical training for medical students began, signifying a progression to university-level exchanges.
The delegation visited President Chen and other officials of National Taiwan University, where both presidents confirmed that they intend to conduct further exchange between the two universities.

 Before that, Dean Morikawa of the School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences and his delegation held a meeting with Assistant Professor Tsau, Chair, and others from National Taiwan University’s Center for Japanese Studies to promote research and student exchanges.

 President Nagayasu and Dean Ikematsu, and others, also visited the National Taiwan University College of Medicine, where they engaged in discussions to promote future exchanges. They also toured the Museum of Medical Humanities, the Cardiovascular Center of the university hospital, and the Medical Library, promising to conduct more active exchange in the field of medicine. In particular, they confirmed plans to further increase student exchanges in clinical clerkships, and shared a policy to foster physicians and researchers who are both internationally-minded and well-versed in international contexts through collaboration between the two institutions.

Lastly, a meeting was held with two students from the School of Medical Sciences, Nagasaki University School of Medicine, who are currently participating in clinical clerkships at the National Taiwan University College of Medicine. During the meeting, the delegation gathered feedback on their training experiences and provided advice on how to make the most of their training abroad.
