Professor ASHIZAWA Kazuto received an award for his contribution to environmental conservation in FY 2025.
Professor ASHIZAWA Kazuto of Nagasaki University, affiliated with the Departments of Clinical Oncology at both the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the School of Medicine received an award for his contributions to environmental conservation in 2025. The award ceremony of the “Commendations by Minister of the Environment for Contributors for Environmental Conservation in FY2025” was held at the Ministry of the Environment in Tokyo on June 26, hosted by Minister of the Environment, ASAO Keiichiro.
Each year, the Ministry of the Environment provides awards from the Minister to individuals and organizations who have made outstanding achievements in environmental conservation, local environmental protection and local environmental beautification in June, during Environment Month.
This award was presented to ASHIZAWA Professor for his significant contribution to medical assessment and imaging diagnosis as a radiologist for asbestos-related diseases, and for his significant contributions to the promotion of environmental administration, including his involvement in surveys to ensure the accuracy of asbestos readings by the Ministry of the Environment and the creation and raising awareness for a web-based education system on lung cancer certification standards.
