President of National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology Visited Nagasaki University
On June 9, 2025, Dr. Ching-Yu Yang, President of National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), visited Nagasaki University and met with President Takeshi Nagayasu and other faculty members.
Since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on student exchange and a Double Degree Program in 2018, led by the Graduate School of Fisheries and Environmental Sciences (Now reorganized as the Graduate School of Integrated Science and Technology), the two universities have maintained active collaboration through student exchanges, joint research, and other academic activities.
This visit was to mark the renewal of the existing agreements and aimed to further strengthen academic and personnel exchanges. Both universities also expressed their shared interest in expanding collaboration beyond individual departments to a broader, university wide partnership.
During the meeting, President Nagayasu extended a warm welcome to the delegation and shared his hopes for expanded faculty exchange, the development of new student programs, and the advancement of joint research efforts. In response, President Yang expressed his appreciation for the continued partnership and emphasized the importance of fostering globally minded human resources. Before the courtesy meeting, the delegation visited a laboratory in the School of Fisheries and participated in an informal gathering with current NKUST students studying at Nagasaki University. The exchange took place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the strong ties between the two universities.
