Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and Nagasaki University conducted a signing ceremony
On December 2, 2024, Nagasaki University and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) conducted a signing ceremony for an academic exchange agreement.
SIPRI, established in 1966, is an independent international institute specializing in research on
conflict, nuclear disarmament, and arms control.
On the day of the ceremony, in the presence of relevant officials, Director Dan Smith of SIPRI and President Nagayasu of Nagasaki University signed an academic exchange agreement, confirming that both parties will bring their respective experience and knowledge together to explore avenues for nuclear disarmament, global risk reduction, ecological security, and planetary health.
