On 25 October 2024, the signing ceremony was held for the academic exchange agreement between Nagasaki University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Wuyi University School of Pharmacy and Food Engineering in the People’s Republic of China.

Signing Ceremony

Wuyi University, founded in 1985 and located in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, is a comprehensive university that focuses on science and technology. It is also designated a key university in Guangdong Province. In December 2019, a delegation led by Vice-President Dong Chao Jun visited the Nagasaki University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to tour the campus and have discussions on international exchange in preparation for the establishment of the School of Pharmacy at Wuyi University.
  In March 2024, the president, Prof. Luan Tian Gan, and Prof. Chen Wenhua, who received his PhD from Nagasaki University’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2000, paid a courtesy visit to Trustee Masako Ito (Student and International Affairs) of Nagasaki University.
  A signing ceremony was held at Wuyi University for the signing of an international exchange agreement and a memorandum of understanding on student exchange. After Vice-President Chen Wenhua gave a welcome speech, Prof. Chen Guodong Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Food Engineering and Prof. Nishida Kouyou, the Dean of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nagasaki University signed the agreement and memorandum of understanding. The agreement was followed by an exchange of views and both parties confirmed their intention to promote academic exchange in the presence of Professor Fan Jianglin of Wuyi University and Professor Toba Akira, a member of the Nagasaki University International Exchange Committee from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Discussion

  Professor Toba also presented his research on environmental analysis at the Chinese Society of Environmental Mass Spectrometry, which was held from October 26th to the 28th  at the invitation of Wuyi University. Furthermore, comprehensive discussions were held with relevant parties on joint research and student exchange in fields related to pharmacy, and meetings were held to discuss future research projects and student exchange programs. Further exchange is expected in the future, including the promotion of student exchange and joint research.
